Shared Meals Begin

December 98. With the completion of our Common House, the first week of the month saw the first 3 nights of sharing meals in our dining room. Our kitchen and the amazing cooking crews prepared fabulous dinners for between 45 and 60 eager community members. We look forward to many years of fine dining in community to come!

Eco Award

_____1998. The Environmental Committee of the Ann Arbor Board of Realtors presented Sunward with their Environmental Awareness Award.

Opening Celebration

November 12, 1998. Happy noise, speeches, and smiling faces filled our common house as we celebrated its near-completion and gathered to thank the many, many people who have helped bring our dream to reality. Our architect summed it up well saying, that his work was made easier because the Sunward community existed and thrived well before our new homes were built.

1st Anniversary of Groundbreaking

May 22, 1998. One year ago today we gathered on the site with friends and family to turn a few shovels of earth. We had such a great time flying kites, listening to speakers and music and later having our first all-community dinner. Now 5 families are living in their new Sunward homes with more making the big move every week! We are thinking about new traditions and celebrations. First household moves in at Sunward!

Our First Family Moves In!

April 25, 1998. A beautiful warm spring day enveloped the community as a couple dozen friends and family members unloaded the assorted moving vans, pickups and cars helping to move Carol, JD, and Logan into their new home at Sunward. Great excitement and joy filled our hearts as Sunward passes this major milestone on the road from dream to reality. Three cheers for our 3 pioneering members, braving the mud and on-going construction!
